2019-11-12 Fishing Reports

Freshwater:

  1. Barry fished Prospect Lake on last Wed. and caught one nice trout.  He later fished Durrance Lake and caught 6 fish on the following flies: Shiny Leech, Royal Coachman Wet. Fish were caught close to the surface on a 3wt. rod.
  2. Jim fished Langford and had no trouble remembering how many fish he caught: a total of 1 fish in a week.

Salt Water: No reports of fish caught

2019-11-05 Fishing Reports

Fresh Water:

  • Barry – Durrance Lake – good fishing, 10-14” – fishing in afternoon, flies – Leeches, Royal Coachman,
  • Ron – Durrance – Soft Hackle flies, Set slowly at 5’
  • Jim – Langford Lake – Orange Booby, Balanced Leeches – No luck, some fish were caught, but not by Jim – fish close to top to catch some, larger ones are deep
  • Bob C – Cowichin River – pretty slow for Salmon
  • Cecil – Elk Lake, Booby, 2 fish

Salt Water:

  • Cecil – 8 lbs chinook, The Gap in Oak Bay

2019-10-29 Fishing Reports

Fresh Water:

  • Ryan – Cowachin Lake – 2 Cut Throat, Prospect – 7 fish Sunday
  • Jim M – fishing hats available. Sooke River – 7:30 AM no fish, showed fly he uses, hook breaks easily, Chum are released, no problem. A good day, when you say “ next Fish I go home”.
  • Sooke River – lower part, fresh fish – on Sunday

Salt Water:

  • Really slow these days

2019-10-15 Fishing Reports

Fresh Water:

  • Jim – rejuvenate Gortex by putting in Dryer, special soap and spray for Gortex is available as well
  • Ron – Langford Lake, 2 lbs plus
  • Sooke River – Dave on Friday had good day, (springs first and then chum) blue fly, Ira’s Fly, Chatruse Fly using Spey Rod, Brian had poor day

Salt Water:

  • Ron – 3 coho, Beachy Head area this week, 33 ½ lb Chinook
