Elk/Beaver Lake – Fishing Dock Project

In cooperation with Freshwater Fisheries Society of B.C. , World Fisheries Trust and the  Rotary Club of Saanich, Victoria Golden Rods and Reels raised 50% of the cost of the new replacement dock to match the  Capital Regional District Parks funding.

The new dock was installed in 2022.

Background

The old dock’s official opening was Saturday May 11, 1996. Our club was the lead group in cooperation with CRD Parks, in having the original dock installed . But the old dock was 26 years old, declining in safety, and has improved accessibility features.

Elk/Beaver Lake is the largest freshwater fishery on Vancouver Island, supporting 15,000-18,000 angler days per year. It is stocked with 18,000 rainbow trout annually by the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC (FFSBC).
