SPEAKER: UVic Prof. William Carroll

TOPIC: Corporate Power, Fossil Fuels and Climate Crisis

In 2008 Dr. Carroll  was awarded the University of Victoria Faculty of Social Sciences Research Excellence Award. In the autumn of 2010 he was elected to a four year term as President of the Economy and Society Research Committee of the International Sociological Association.

Professor Carroll has taught courses primarily at the upper-level undergraduate and graduate level and has supervised numerous graduate students. His teaching interests range from social inequality, ideology and society, social movements, corporate capitalism and critical research strategies to social theory, including CSPT.
